JUNE
We made the most of the fine weather for the month of June and we hit the road as much as we could! Our sitting and waiting skills are improving every day, just look at us here, waiting and ready to go!
First up was a trip to Leahy's Farm.
We took a stroll to Abbeyside and all picked our favourite treat in the shop.

Our first theme this month was transport. We made lots of colourful art.
APRIL
Our first theme in April was Spring. Take a look at our beautiful Spring artwork.
Here you can see us making our cherry blossom trees. We had lots of fun with the bubble wrap!

We planted some seeds and have been watering them every day and watching them grow.
We went to the farm and spotted signs of new spring life. We got to feed horses and calves!! We were having so much fun we forgot to take many pictures.....

We had to give our tickets to Harry at the door. Once we were inside we saw everything from tigers to spiders to monkeys!!!

MARCH
We started the month of March with the theme of St. Patrick's Day! We made lots of lovely crafts.
We learned a little song about a leprechaun and a pot of gold.
We had a visit from our very own leprechaun and he left coins all over our classroom for us to find!

The parade in town was cancelled but that didn't mean we couldn't have our own!!
We dressed up in all our gear and marched around the classroom to some music.

Our next theme was Easter. We made some lovely colourful Easter eggs with paint and tissue paper.

FEBRUARY
We are so happy to be back to school!!!
This month we learned about our senses.
First up was the sense of touch. We felt different materials on some sensory boards.
We also felt a vibrating foot massager and foot spa!

We had lots of fun exploring sound!

Next we listened to the various sounds that musical instruments can make and then we decided to make some of our own!!

Ms. Whelan put lots of different herbs and spices into bowls and we took turn to smell them. Then we added a drop of water to each bowl and created some smelly paints.

DECEMBER
What a crazy December we had! Even though things were very different this year we still got out and about on lots of adventures.
First up we decided what we wanted for Christmas and made our very own Santa lists.

We decorated our own Christmas buns with icing, chocolate, marshmallows and snowflakes.
We had a very special 7th birthday! 🎂 🎂
We had a very special visit from Santa Claus.
We hopped on the bus and went to visit the Festive Forest where we saw Santa again, along with Ms. Claus, some elves and reindeers!
We had a fantastic day on the Greenway, going to the playground first and the coffee shop after.
We did the beautiful Anne Valley walk and spotted some swans along the way.
It’s not Christmas without a trip to the cinema. We really enjoyed Elf.

NOVEMBER
We kicked off the month of November with the theme of Occupations. We decided to learn about the fireman first!!
Here we are dressing our firemen and firewomen.
Shoot the water, put out the flames. Oh what fun we had!!

Next up: The Postman. First we wrote a lovely letter to our friend. Then we took a trip to the post office to buy a stamp and post our letter.

Would you believe we got a parcel delivered to our door by a very special postman?! Of course we had to play pass the parcel!!
Our second theme this month was Music. We explored lots of different musical instruments.
We got busy making a xylophone craft.
What a treat, we had a special friend come in to play some music on her guitar. We were in our element!!
Cookery this month was cereal. Our listen skills were put to the test when Ms Whelan asked to us to chose either the spoon or the bowl.
We all picked our own favourite cereal and poured them into the bowl. Some of us added milk and some preferred to eat our cereal dry.
We also mastered beans and toast this month!
OCTOBER
What a busy month we had!! Our first theme was Autumn. We went on a lovely nature walk picking blackberries and collecting leaves.
When we got back to school we practiced our sorting skills and divided our collection into two piles: leaves and berries.

We were delighted to get back to the cookery room. We always ways our hands before we begin.

SEPTEMBER
We were very excited to get back to school and settle back into our routine, just look at our smiley faces!!😁😁

Our first theme this month was Family. You should have seen the smiles and kisses we had for the pictures of our families each day- adorable 😍
We love playdough so we put our skills to test with our family themed playdough mats.
Next up was the theme of school. We looked at the people who help us in school and the friends we have in our classroom. We played a matching game with these visuals. Some of us were even able for more difficult matching boards!!

We had the most fantastic day ever on the Greenway!!!! Here we are all ready for road....
We stopped at the playground in Durrow for our snack and then on to Ballycamper beach for our lunch!😍😍
The going didn’t stop there. We made sure to make the most of the nice weather and got out and about on some scenic walks.
