We like to welcome visitors to this class! We were lucky enough to get an incubator and eggs. We then got to witness the magic happen. Nature is the most incredible thing.

January
We started off our January in style with major celebrations for Ann’s 40th year in the school.
We had the best visitor ever when Hope came in to our class for the day. Everyone made friends with Hope and we learned lots for our. “Caring for animals” module.
We brought Hope for a big long walk and all got to learn how to hold the lead.
We took to the cookery room armed with ingredients and instructions and we baked dog biscuits. Hope did the taste test and she approved. Whoever had a dog at home brought home a treat for them.
We really enjoyed yoga every Wednesday, especially having a doggie visitor. Hope really got into it too'!!!
We used iPads and phones to compare different dog food brands in different shops. Online shopping is a great skill to learn 😀😀
We got out and about practicing ball skills.
We were very lucky to have had the chance to visit the Irish Guide Dogs HQ in Cork. We found out so much about the work they do and all the dogs that they train. It is incredible! Watch this space for fundraising we will organize to help them.
November
We did lots of work for our Level 2 modules in the cookery and woodwork room. We need lots of practical life skills that we practice daily.
We enjoyed a trip to the Town Hall for Science Week where we saw a Bubble Show.
Of course we had to get photos with the penguin in town for Christmas.
Some art we have been working on with Christmas themes.
October
We had mighty fun preparing for Halloween carving pumpkins.
We celebrated a very special 18th birthday this month.
Maeve from Dog's Trust came to visit with her lovely helper Penny. We learned lots about the work of Dog's Trust and also very important information on how to care for dogs. This is the start of our section on Caring for Animals short course.
Following our discussion on dogs we began learning about their life cycle.
Remember our visitors to class last month???

We started horse riding and it has been the best experience! We are learning all about horses and ponies in Finisk Riding Centre and also in class. This is the start of a Junior Cycle short course on caring for animals. I think Ms. Walsh went a bit mad with the photos....
