We went on a fabulous local school tour. We got a boat trip down the river Blackwater which was really enjoyable.
This has been the best project. We tie-dyed t-shirts and the result was amazing.

We will have to start up a mini company I think.... these turned out so well!
We took a lovely walk to Abbeyside beach and the park adding up the mileage to our June Journey's fundraiser.
We had lots if birthdays this month. Happy birthday guys!

As part of our Junior Cycle in personal care, we looked at mindfulness and how mindful colouring can help reduce stress.

We said goodbye to our beautiful butterflies! It was great to see them flying off after watching them grow from caterpillars.

We love getting out and about on the bus. We went to Crough Woods for a walk.

We did lots of work on the Life Cycle of the butterfly and there has been a good reason, watch this space....
We had a very cute visitor to the class. I think we should make animals a permanent fixture in the class!!
We are loving our weekly Zumba lessons. We are so lucky we have the outside yard space to bust out the moves!
We looked at a very important topic... Farm Safety especially for our day trip.
We were lucky enough to visit a real farm!! Mr McCarthy kindly brought us on a tour of his farm where we got to see how life works on a farm. We also got to see so many animals which were a big hit.

We have settled back into school again after the extended break.

For art, we used clay to create Christmas tree decorations.
We enjoyed a few treats of course. Here we are with our in school cinema day watching Klaus. We loved it and really enjoyed the quiz after it.
Our enterprise project was the Christmas Cards, we loved sorting them, counting the money and sending them to the people who bought them.
After lockdown ended we went straight out on the bus!!! We enjoyed a hot chocolate in a local cafe and a lovely winter stroll.
We baked shortbread biscuits to decorate.

Thanks to the lotto money, we got a trip to the cinema. We were so lucky to go!

How lucky were we to get a visit from Olas the Robot from TQS to send our support to the Waterford team.
Below is the beginning stage of the Christmas card project. We designed our own cards and sent them off to be printed.
French toast and sandwiches were on the menu this week. We will never go hungry if we can make these simple foods.
Board games and card games are amazing to work on skills such as turn taking, patience and following instructions.

We loved our art this week, folding pages in a book to create Christmas trees and Angels.

Great fun was had for Halloween STEAM day in the hall with Jennie and Colin.
We started making simple dishes for cookery. Our plan is to learn to cook nice and simple food that we could make at home on our own. We made pasta and noodles.
We loved carving our own pumpkins that we bought ourselves.
We marked Mental Health awareness day by painted some stones with positive messages.
A highlight of our term so far was a bus trip to Crough Woods for a cup of tea and a walk and a stop at Clonea beach on the way back.
We used our leaves that we collected in the woods to do some Autumn art.
Our topic for numeracy for Junior Cycle this month was money. We looked at receipts and bills.
We made very cute/scary spiders in cookery.
Using clay we modelled a sugar skull for our learning on Day of the Dead.

What a start to a new school year. We eased ourselves back into school life after being off for so long. We used the nice weather to get out and about as much as we could.
We took our school bus to Ardmore for a lovely day.
