June
June started with a special Birthday for a special young lady, Emily celebrated with all her friends and had a lovely day!
Our theme for June is Summer We found lots of interesting ways to incorporate this theme in the classroom. In our cookery class we made beach buns with jelly babies relaxing on the beach.
It wouldn’t be summer without an ice-cream!!!
We love going on the Greenway. We always really enjoy being out and about on our bikes.
We stopped off at the playground to have a picnic. We had lots of fun with all our friends.

We met up with our friends for breakfast.
May
May began with our theme of the Zoo. We made lots of colorful animals to decorate our classroom.
We had lots of fun with our water play giving our animals a bath!
In cookery we made wild animals, they were as lovely to eat as they were to make!
We made a wonderful zoo in our classroom and invited our friends from the other classes to visit us. We all had lots of fun finding all the animals.
Our next theme was Transport. We had lots of fun learning about all forms of Transport, from cars to trains to boats.
We had a very special Birthday in school this month. Philip celebrated his Birthday with us in class and we all had a lovely time!
April
April means Easter this year! We started this month by making Easter Egg pictures. We had loads of fun rolling the eggs to make a pattern
We made a big splash with our Easter Egg water play!
We were so busy making wonderful Easter Egg crafts to decorate our room. It gave lots of colour to our day!
We made some lovely eggs for our display and found some Easter chicks in our eggs.

We had some special visitors before Easter. The Easter Bunnies came to visit so we had a Bunny Disco to celebrate
Before we finished up for Easter we had a wonderful Easter Egg hunt. We found lots of chocolate eggs and had lots of fun!
March
Dancing in to March
Our first theme for March was St. Patricks Day. We had lots of fun in Science and Art making rainbows with paints and Skittles!
We made beautiful green shamrocks for St. Patrick's Day
We loved making our pots of gold shine
We decorated our room with some very colourful crafts
We also made some lovely Leprechauns
We made our own luck by making rainbow cupcakes with pots of gold. They were as colourful as they were delicious!
Our lovely cook Sinead made us a beautiful Irish dinner. It was delicious!
We celebrated St. Patrick's Day with some fabulous Irish Dancing, we had such great fun!
To top off our celebrations we all had a parade for St Patrick's Day. As you can see we all really enjoyed the day

Our next theme was Spring time. We made some Spring lamb buns and some frogs
We had a big Spring Clean of our classroom to make it spick and span!
We planted some Spring flowers to bring some colour into our classroon
We took advantage of the Spring sunshine to go out on our bikes in the school yard
We made some special Spring biscuits
Springtime also means Mothers Day. We were very busy in school making presents for our Mothers for the big day.

Our First Theme for the month of February was Friendship and Valentine's.

We really enjoyed making our Friendship Trees. We put them on display for all to see that, We are such Good Friends.

This month we learnt about our five senses. We listened to sounds of different animals for our sense of hearing...
We got to smell different things like soap, lemons, chocolate, perfume....
We got to experience many different textures for our sense of touch....
We got to taste lots of different things like crisps, jellies, fruit and chocolate for our sense of taste. This was our favourite sense! Yum!
January 2019
Happy New Year 2019 from all of us in Room 1!
Our Themes for January were Winter and Toys. We made a Winter themed door for our room, "ICE" to see you!
We celebrated the New Year by making Firework Cookies which were just as much fun to make as they were to eat!
We dressed up for the weather with our hat, scarf and mittens.
As we had a distinct lack of snow so we made our own for sensory play. SO COLD but tasted wonderful!

While we waited for the real thing,we made our own snow with coconut for sensory play, it tasted better than real snow!
To bring the Winter theme to life we had a wonderful "Snow- themed" window with Polar bears and penguins.
Our second theme for January was Toys. we had great fun cleaning our toys in preparation for a visit from our friends from the other classes.
We all helped to tidy away our toys when we were finished playing with them.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in our classroom. We have been working so hard to make our classroom look festive....

We've got the Golden Ticket. We're off to Faithlegg to meet Santa Claus....YIPPEE!!!!!!

Oh What Fun we had this year, dancing and singing with all our friends in Faithlegg.
We really enjoyed our Christmas Dinner with all our school friends. A huge Thank you to all the chefs who made our meal. It was delicious. We will definitely be back next year.
Paw Patrol paid us a visit. It was so nice to see Skye, Marshall and Chase.
We took a trip to Waterford and enjoyed a fabulous Train ride with all our friends.
Showtime. We really enjoyed performing our party piece for our school Christmas Concert.

November
Our first theme for November was Occupations. Our first day on the job we became Firefighters.
Learning about the letter F- F for Fireman and F for Fire. Colours Red, Yellow and Orange......
Smiles all round when we became Dentists. Not so sure these are good for your teeth Ms. Wall!!!!
Humpty Dumpty sat on a colourful wall. Humpty Dumpty had a great fall. But it's ok, we all helped to put him back together again.
Hey Diddle, Diddle, the cat and the fiddle. The cow jumped over the moon. -Oh how we laughed - A COW jumping over the moon!!!

Oh!!! What a fun-filled month we had - packed with colour, adventure and creative play. Our Themes for this month were Autumn and Halloween. Of course, our first activity was to head outdoors and explore our wonderful trees.

We made our very own Horse Chestnut Truffles which tasted DIVINE!!
We made the most of the Autumn sunshine having fun on the swing in our playground.
We helped to clean up the Autumn leaves in the Playground, practical life skills while having fun.

And made edible Hedgehogs with buns and chocolate!

e met very special visitors to our town, the Rapid Response Team landed in the Brothers field and we went to greet them. It was so nice to see the workings of the Helicopter up close.
On the run up to Halloween we mad some spooky crafts and decorated our pumpkins for our class.
We love to paint pumpkins in our messy play WITHOUT all the mess!
Ghosts were on the menu in our spooky cookery lesson!
We had lots of fun in our Halloween Sensory Walk, with plenty of slime and goo!
We had the best fun at the Witches Walk organised by St. Marys School so we had our own spooky walk back at school.

What a busy month we have had this September in Room 1. We welcomed a new friend to our classroom and we have had lots of fun settling back to school together.
The first theme for the month of September was Family.
For our Family Theme we read the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We really enjoyed meeting and spending time with Goldilocks.

We had so much fun with the bears we decided to make some of our own. They were delicious!!!

All roads lead to St. John's School. Busy Buses bringing us to school.

Apples for the Teacher - No!!!!! We painted with ours.
The Wheels on the Bus go Round and Round.......BUT.......Not in our class - They were too good not to eat. YUM!!!
