Our first theme for the month of March was St. Patrick

January
Our themes this month were winter and countries.
We took a look at some clothes we might use to keep warm in winter and played A matching activity which we were really good at.
We made a lovely winter scene craft with different shaped card
Winter do-a-dot activities.

Lots of winter themed activities worked on over the fortnight.
Counting the buttons on the snowman.
We put our listening skills to the test and pointed out the different items associated with winter to Ms. Dunford.
We made our very own “ Olaf” craft.
We celebrated a special girls birthday as she was on Christmas Holidays when she turned the big 6.

Back to the cookery room to make some lemon muffins.
Up next was our countries theme. For this we took to the airport on two occasions to travel to Italy and France and look at different aspects of them.

November
Our themes for November were houses and homes shopping which we had great fun exploring. We started off by looking at the different rooms inside the house and talked about what you might find in each of the rooms. We had a go at a room matching activity which we were very good at.
Next up we put our construction skills to the test and built houses from LEGO. Just look at our master pieces!

Next up was our weekly trip to the cookery room. This time to try our hands at chocolate chip cookie making! They tasted as delicious as they looked.
We worked together at a sorting activity where we sorted items you would find inside the home and outside of the home.

October
The two themes we explored for October were Autumn and Halloween. Take a look at all the fun activities we got stuck in to. We kicked off the autumn theme by making some lovely Autumn colored Pom Pom trees.
Our theme song was The Scarecrow Song which we loved and were very good at doing our actions to it.
We made beautiful hedgehogs from lovely colored silk leaves.
We made stained glass leaves with tissue paper.
We used leaves for a matching activity.
We used confers to make some lovely shake art Autumn leaves for our display.
We went for a nature walk to find signs of Autumn and picked up some lovely leaves which we brought back to class and did some leaf rubbings with crayons.
Following our theme song we made our own scarecrows for our Autumn display board

We practiced our fine motor skills with some Autumn themed dot-to-dot activities.
September
Room 4 had fun settling in and getting to know each other for the month of September. We welcomed Caiden, Christian, Rosanna and Victor who are new to our School this year and we welcome Aisling back after the summer holidays. We look forward to working with them all and having fun throughout the year. We enjoyed exploring the themes of myself and school this month. We made some lovely name crafts to display on our classroom walls.
We learned the parts of our bodies and played a matching game which we were really good at.
Here we are practicing our fine motor skills with various activities.
Here we are enjoying some sensory play on our new tuff tray with shaving foam.
We love bubbles here in room 4, look at how much fun we are having popping those bubbles.
Our first trip to the cookery room this year was a great success, everyone enjoyed helping to make homemade pizza.

We measured ourselves with string to see how tall we were and made a nice display for the classroom wall.

Another fun fine motor skills activity, feeding the lion with Pom poms.
For our next trip to the cookery room we tried our hands at making some Rice Krispie buns, we also sampling them afterwards.
We put our construction skills together and made a school bus from LEGO. Wow, very impressive building work!

Our next creations in the cookery room were toasted sandwiches which we enjoyed eating as much as we enjoyed making them.
