What a busy month we have had with lots of outdoor activities and trips! We had a great time! Our themes for the month were Water and Summer.
We started off in the classroom but by the end of the month we were off on the bus or on foot to go to new places and experiences new adventures.

May

It's hard to believe we are near the end of our school year!
Our themes for May were "The Zoo" and "Transport". Take a look at what we got up to this month.
We had a rhyme called "The Zoo" where we read it or listened to it and matched the animals. We did some zoo animal matching. We made puzzles. We looked at books about the zoo and of course we did some nice pieces of art!

We were so lucky to be invited to Ms Wall's room where we visited a wonderful zoo! There were so many animals to see and hear! We were in our element!

Transport was our second theme of the month. We had a rhyme called "Go, Go, Go". We looked at the different types of transport. We did some matching and art.

We are absolutely brilliant in Room 2 when it comes to food we don't particularly like the feel or smell of. We have improved so much since September. Now we touch, smell and sometimes taste the different food that Ms Dunford gives us!

A very special boy in our class made his Holy Communion along with five other pupils from school. We are very proud of you all for doing a great job on the day. Well done! As a treat for the classes of those who made their Communion, we went to Mc Donald's and the playground. We had a lovely afternoon.

April

We would like to welcome a new friend to Room 2!

Our theme for April was Easter. We had only two weeks in school but we had lots of activities inside the classroom and outside to keep us busy!

We put on our bunny ears and joined the other Junior classes in the hall for some dancing.

We went outside for an Easter egg hunt. We found lots of chocolate eggs. They were yummy!

We had a lovely morning in the library where we did some art and listened to stories.

We were very lucky to go to the Kingfisher in Waterford for a fun sports day. We ran in races, jumped hurdles and played fun games. It was a great day. We even got medals at the end for all our great work!

March

Our themes for March were St. Patrick's Day and Spring. We've been lucky enough to be out and about enjoying the lovely spring weather that we had over the past few weeks.

At the beginning of the month we started off learning about St. Patrick's Day and Ireland.

We were lucky enough again this year to have Helen come in and teach us some Irish dancing. We had great fun!

 Our next theme was Spring. We saw lots of signs of spring outside and even set seeds in the polytunnel! Here we are with our spring poem. Some of us read the poem while others matched pictures.

 We were busy making our wonderful mammies cupcakes and some lovely art for them to put on display at home! We hope!!!

February

February was a busy month for Room 2! Our themes for the month were Friendship/Valentine's and the Senses. Take a look at some of the activities we got up to!
We learned about good and bad friends. We matched some colourful love hearts and ordered hearts in size.

We listened to the "Rainbow Fish" story about sharing and coloured in some rainbow fish.

We made love heart toast and melted cholcolate into love hearts. We then delivered some of these treats to our friends in Ms Wall's, Ms. Whelan's and Ms. Ryan's room.

January

Happy New Year to everyone! 
We're back in action here in Room 2! The themes for the month were Winter and Toys. Take a look and see what we got up throughout the month.
Here we are dressing the snowman. We also played a listening game to see how many items of clothing we could remember to put on the snowman.

We decorated biscuits with icing to make a snowflake and made a snowman that started melting very fast!

Our themes for November were Occupations and Music. We had great fun learning about each theme. 
We looked at the dentist, hairdresser and fireman as part of the occupation theme.

October has been a fun packed month for us. Our two themes were Autumn and Halloween. Take a look at some of the activities that we got up to.
We went on a nature walk and picked some Autumn leaves.

September

Here are the boys of Room 2! We welcomed in two new boys to our class and from what we can see, they are settling in very well already!
