Leavers Lunch June 2015
Soccer Tournament June 2015
On Wednesday 10th June, St. John's hosted a soccer tournament in the soccer club in Kilrush. We were delighted to welcome Scoil Bernadette from Cork, Scoil Chormaic from Cashel and St. Joseph's from Waterford.
Well done to everyone who took part on the day, the players, helpers and supporters. A great day was had by all.
Thanks to Colin, George, Tony and Alan for all their hard work in organising and refereeing the games.

End of Year Mass
On June 2nd, we had our Summer Mass celebrated by Fr. Ryan with beautiful music from Dina Walsh and Ms. Southern's school choir.
The mass marked the end of a wonderful year in St. John's but also celebrated the the Leavers who achieved great things during their time with us.
There was great support from families on the day and it was lovely to see so many familiar faces.
On the day, we launched the new school website, the parents got a tour of the new extension and we also had a slideshow of wonderful memories of the past year.

Fun Day 2015
Nothing but smiles and soggy clothes going home after the annual Sports/Fun Day! A great day for both students and staff. Between races, dressing up, face-painting, penalty shoot-outs, pin the tail on the donkey, guessing games, target activities, water games, obstacle courses and of course the main event, the water fight, there was something for everyone to get involved with and thoroughly enjoy.
Thanks to all the staff involved in the organisation, especially Ms. Wall, George and Colin. Below is a selection of the hundreds of photographs taken on the day!

Active Schools Week 2015
On the first day of the active week which was on Monday the 27th, we did an army obstacle course in our playground.
We dressed in camouflage suits and put face paint on. We had a few practice races to run around the cones, up under up the strings, walk on a rope, crawl through a tent, run on a bench, walk on two wooden planks through a maze then race to the end. Some classes got very competitive with team relay races with the staff.
It was great fun we all enjoyed ourselves.

Thanks a million to Harry for putting the assault course together for us. We had so much fun.

On the last day of Active Week, to round off an action packed week, we all went to Ross Barrett's Gym.
The whole school was divided into three groups and each group got an allocated time in the gym.
From punching the bags to sprawls, press-up's to Simon Says, caterpillars and bear crawls to boxing technique, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
Thanks so much to Ross, Sean and Beth for a great day. It is safe to say that every child enjoyed their time there... Nothing but smiles and red faces going back to school! 😆

Artists in St. John's
Each class was given a canvas to paint in order to brighten up the staff-room. We took on the challenge and the results are spectacular!
